Product overview
Three 3rd Generation acrylic colours for US Navy aircraft finished in the Atlantic Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) schemes introduced around mid-1943. Two of the three — Light Gull Grey and Insignia White — also appear in the US Navy & USMC master set (AK11729); Dark Gull Grey appears in no other box in this block, and is the reason this set exists.
- Set contains (3 × 17 ml): AK11884 Dark Gull Grey (FS 36231), AK11866 Light Gull Grey (FS 16440), AK11868 Insignia White (FS 17875)
- Matt finish; acrylic colours for brush, and for airbrush dilute with water or AK11500 thinner
- The box carries AK's printed "Scale Reduction Factor" mark, as on the rest of the 3GEN AIR range
- Made by AK Interactive S.L. in Logroño, Spain

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
