Tamiya 1/35 M26 Pershing T26E3 35254
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American heavy tank in 1:35 scale.
The effectiveness of German 88 mm anti-aircraft guns against Allied armored vehicles has prompted the US military to start their own projects of similar nature. In 1942 the idea of constructing a medium tank, armed with a gun based on the anti-aircraft 90 mm gun occurred. A year later, work began on a T23 prototype. From the latter, most heavily armed American tank in World War II emerged - Pershing. With the entry into service, however, it was classified as a heavy tank. It was the first and foremost a treatment, aimed to raise the morale of the tankers, which came to fight with the powerful German Tigers. M26 debuted during the operation of crossing the Rhine at Remagen, where it played a key role in support of advancing infantry. By May 1945 200 of these tanks fought in Europe. Pershing took an active part in the Korean War, where they had coped well with tanks of Soviet design.
Tamiya kit allows assembly of the American M26 Pershing medium tank (T26E3) model, along with the commander and loader figurines. Box includes part of the hull, 6 sprues with parts, rubber tracks, screws that secure the movable suspension and decals (allows reconstruction of vehicles from 2nd, 3rd or 8th Armored Division during the Second World War or the 1st Battalion Tank Corps Marine from the period of the Korean War).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
