❄️ Green Stuff World – Liquid Frost 17ml

Salt Crystal Effect Solution · Frost & Ice for Miniatures, Bases & Terrain

🧊 What It Does

A water-based saline solution that grows real salt crystals as it dries. Apply to your models, bases or terrain and it forms white crystalline frost structures — no sculpting, no gluing bits, no mixing powders. Ready to use straight from the bottle.

Thin layers produce a subtle frost dusting. Thicker drops create dramatic, visible crystal formations — ideal for everything from realistic winter basing to over-the-top fantasy ice effects.

🎯 Best For

❄️ Snow bases — frost over static grass, rocks, cork, rubble
❄️ Terrain pieces — ruins, fences, wrecks, tree branches
❄️ Miniature figures — frosted armour, weapons, cloaks, fur
❄️ Fantasy effects — ice magic, frost weapons, crystal formations
❄️ Vegetation — frozen droplets on static grass, tufts, bushes

🛠️ How to Use

1. Surface must be dry, primed or painted. Bare porous materials (raw wood, MDF, cork) absorb the liquid and kill the effect — seal them first.

2. Apply small drops or puddles with a brush or bottle tip. Don't spread it thin like a wash — crystals need volume to grow.

3. Leave to dry 4–24 hours depending on thickness and humidity.

4. Want bigger crystals? Add another layer once dry. Each coat builds on the last.

5. Apply as the final step. Painting or varnishing over dried crystals can damage them.

💡 Pro tip: Don't cut the nozzle wide open — make a small pinhole instead. The liquid is very thin and easy to flood.

⚠️ Good to Know Before You Buy

🔹 Porous surfaces absorb the liquid → weak or no crystals. Seal them first with primer or varnish.

🔹 Flat smooth plastic can also underperform — textured surfaces give crystals more to grip onto.

🔹 Water dissolves it even after drying. Keep finished pieces dry. Don't varnish over the top.

🔹 Thin spread = weak effect. It needs to pool slightly. Apply drops, not washes.

We strongly recommend a test piece first before committing to your prize model. Results depend on layer thickness, surface type, and drying conditions — this isn't paint.

💡 Popular combo: Apply snow paste first for your base layer, then Liquid Frost on top. The paste gives texture for crystals to latch onto, and the frost adds realistic sparkle. Many hobbyists use this two-step technique for winter bases and dioramas.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What does Liquid Frost actually do?

It's a saline solution that forms real salt crystals as it dries. The result looks like frost, ice, or crystalline formations on your models and terrain.

What surfaces work best?

Primed or painted surfaces — plastic, resin, metal, and snow pastes all work well. Textured surfaces perform better than completely smooth ones. Avoid bare porous materials like raw wood, MDF, or cork unless you seal them first.

How long does it take to dry?

Thin layers can set in about an hour, but allow 4–24 hours for full crystal development. Overnight drying gives the best results.

Can I varnish or paint over it?

Not recommended. The crystals are water-soluble and can dissolve or deform when coated. Apply Liquid Frost as the final step in your process.

Can I fix mistakes?

While still wet, it wipes off with water. Once dry, you can re-wet it to soften the crystals, or remove them mechanically.
