Vallejo Innovator Airbrush 90001 — 2-in-1 Dual Action Gravity Feed, 0.2 & 0.3 mm (SKU: VAL90001)

Ace of Vallejo’s new airbrush line · needle travel + air pressure regulators on the body · ultralight alloy · floating nozzle

★ FREE BONUS WITH EVERY AIRBRUSH ★
Every airbrush we sell includes a tin of our own Hobby Heaven HHP-1001 Elastic Masking Putty (Black, 80 g) — added free, at no extra cost. Great for masking fine details, camouflage patterns and protecting parts during multi-layer painting.

Why this airbrush

Two regulators on the airbrush itself — a needle travel regulator for paint flow and an air pressure regulator, so you fine-tune both without reaching for the compressor.

Two needle/nozzle sets in the box — 0.2 mm for fine detail and glazing, 0.3 mm for basecoats and broader coverage.

Ultralight alloy body with an ergonomic shape that stays comfortable through long sessions.

Floating nozzle system — protects the needle tip, resists clogging and keeps the spray crisp.

Strips down easily for cleaning, with a 9 ml gravity cup and a quick-release 1/8" connector.

About the Innovator

The Innovator is the flagship of Vallejo’s new airbrush line: an ultralight alloy, dual-action gravity-feed airbrush built for precision work. What sets it apart is the “2-in-1” control — alongside the usual needle travel regulator, it carries an air flow and pressure regulator on the body itself, so you can adjust air directly at your fingertips.

A floating nozzle system protects the delicate needle tip, helps prevent clogs and makes for crisp, even lines. The independent dual-action trigger gives smooth control over air and paint for layering and seamless gradients.

It ships with two needle/nozzle setups (0.2 mm and 0.3 mm), a 9 ml gravity cup and a quick-release connector that removes to fit standard 1/8" BSP hoses. Designed to be quick to strip down and clean, so you spend more time painting than maintaining.

Who it’s for

Suited to miniature and figure painting, scale modelling, Gunpla and general hobby airbrushing. It connects to any standard 1/8" BSP airbrush hose, so it fits most existing compressor setups. The on-body controls and easy maintenance make it approachable for a keen newcomer, while the precision suits experienced painters too. Note: a hose and compressor are not included.

Getting the most from it

Use the on-body pressure regulator to ease the air back for fine lines without walking over to the compressor.

Fit the 0.2 mm set for detail, glazing and highlights; switch to 0.3 mm for basecoats and broader coverage.

The floating nozzle makes cleaning quick — strip down and back-flush between sessions.

Thin acrylics to roughly milk consistency for the cleanest results through the 0.2 mm.

Pair it with a 1/8" BSP hose and a compressor with a tank and regulator for the most stable air.

What nozzle size do I need for miniatures?

0.3mm is the versatile all-rounder for base coats and priming; 0.2mm suits fine detail work. Larger nozzles (0.5mm) are for terrain and big surfaces.

Do I need a compressor with a tank?

A tank smooths the airflow and reduces pulsing, giving more consistent results — worth it if you spray regularly, but tankless compressors work fine for occasional use.

How do I keep an airbrush working well?

Flush with airbrush cleaner between colours and strip-clean after each session. Most spraying problems are cleaning problems.
