Vallejo Brown Engine Soot 73.818 is an acrylic weathering effect for reproducing the dark, grimy deposits that build up around engines, bulkheads, crankcase housings and wheel arches on scale models. The brownish tone captures the characteristic mix of burnt oil residue, fine dust and exhaust soot that accumulates wherever mechanical parts run hot and dirty — train locomotives, tank engine bays and truck underbodies.

  • Water-based acrylic, 40 ml pot
  • Apply directly on the base coat by brush — build up in layers for heavier deposits

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
