Product overview

Tamiya 87124 is a six-piece pipette set for transferring, mixing and thinning model paints in measured drops. It contains three short pipettes and three long pipettes, allowing the working length to be matched to paint jars, mixing cups or airbrush work. All six are moulded from solvent-resistant PE plastic. The long type also fits the pipette holder supplied with the separately available Spray-Work Airbrush Stand II.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
