Tamiya Fine Pin Vise D 74050 is the broad-capacity hand drill in this group, accepting bits from 0.1–3.2 mm. Its knurled all-metal body ends in a rotating cap supported by an internal ball bearing, allowing the tool to turn smoothly beneath the palm while the chuck is controlled with the fingers. A large tightening cap develops the torque needed to secure the bit. Drill bits are not included.

Notes · Q & A
Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?+
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?+
Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
How do I keep tools in good condition?+
Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
