Medium is the broadest triangular tip Tamiya produces, giving 87107 the most contact area within the pointed range. That wider face suits passes across open panels, broader wash application and blending work where a smaller tip would leave visible stroke marks. The cotton is wound to the same standard as the rest of the range: firm enough to maintain its triangular shape under pressure, absorbent enough to carry fluid evenly. Fifty swabs per pack.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
