A durable synthetic round for beginners, students, and everyday hobby painting.
Da Vinci Junior Series 303 is a short-handle synthetic round aimed at student and beginner use. Retail descriptions describe the Junior synthetics as well built, easy to use, and developed to improve brush quality for beginners, with strong, resilient tips and a precise painting edge. That makes Series 303 a practical choice for hobby painters who need a dependable round that can handle many paints without the care requirements of sable. Compared with premium natural-hair rounds, it will feel firmer and less absorbent, but also more durable and easier to clean. Compared with budget synthetics, the advantage is usually a better tip structure and more consistent handling. It is a straightforward, versatile brush rather than a specialist tool, which is exactly why it works so well for teaching, practice, and general hobby use. jacksonsart
What makes this brush special
This brush should feel resilient and direct. The synthetic tip is designed to stay together under pressure and return to shape after each stroke, which gives a reliable point for small marks. It is unlikely to feel as soft as sable, but it should be more forgiving in tough use and easier to rinse clean. For beginners, that combination is often ideal because the brush behaves predictably. walmart

How we measure a brushA visual guide to the measurements shown in the size chart above.
These are the same measurements shown in the size chart above. Brush sizes are not standardised across brands, so use these dimensions when comparing brushes within a series or between manufacturers.
Tuft Length
The visible length of the brush hairs, measured from the ferrule to the tip.
Belly Diameter
The widest point of the brush head. On round brushes, this is the widest part of the belly.
Total Length
The full measurement from the tip of the brush to the end of the handle.
How to care for your brush
Rinse with lukewarm water after use and clean with a mild brush soap if paint has reached the ferrule. Synthetic fibres are forgiving, but dried acrylic can still damage the tip if left to harden. Reshape the point and store the brush dry with the head protected. Avoid leaving it standing in water or exposing it unnecessarily to harsh thinners. target
