AK Interactive Old & Weathered Wood Vol.2 is the cold-toned half of AK's two-volume wood set: six 3rd Generation acrylics in greys and grey-browns for cold-toned old and weathered timber, where Vol.1 (AK11673) covers the warm browns and reds. AK's printed back panel names the woods this volume is aimed at — Ebony, Aged Oak and Hazelnut — and AK states that the two volumes combine to represent any type of wood. All six colours are also sold individually, so the box is the palette-complete option for cold-toned wood.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
