Product overview

AK8261 represents yellowish lichen on tree bark, stone, buildings and abandoned surfaces. Its loose flakes create the crust-like scenic detail first; once the application is dry, an enamel or oil wash can be worked over it to shift emphasis and settle the lichen into surrounding weathering. The wash stage is therefore a finishing option rather than the adhesive step, and AK gives no fixed drying-time figure before it.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
