AK Interactive Grey for Spaceships contains six matt 3rd Generation acrylic greys for spacecraft, grey figures and other models built around neutral hull colours. The selection runs from pale and sky greys through grimy, green-grey and darker tones, allowing smooth transitions between illuminated areas, mid-tones and shadows. AK states that the paints provide high coverage and adhesion by brush and can be airbrushed after dilution with dedicated thinner.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
