AK9302 is the black option among AK’s 0.25 mm copper wires, supplied as a 5 m coil for scale-modelling detail. The dark colour makes sense wherever the wire remains visible and contributes to the model rather than disappearing against the surrounding surface. It gives you a narrow, consistent line that can be shaped into routed detail across aircraft, armour, figures or dioramas.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
