Product overview

AK8170 represents the subdued end of autumn with russet-brown foliage for bare earth, leaf litter, dry verges and neglected groundwork. Each synthetic shrub is 30–40 mm high, formed around a woody trunk and sized for 75 mm and 90 mm work as much as for 1:35. Brown vegetation can be arranged around walls, tracks and abandoned subjects to soften hard transitions without introducing the fresher colour associated with spring or summer growth.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
