Our pigment range features colors specifically chosen to depict the wear and erosion from harsh conditions, perfect for replicating the dust on tank tracks, rust on armor, and various weathering effects on vehicles and buildings. You can apply the pigments dry with a brush, thanks to their excellent adhesion, or fix them in place with Thinner to simulate dry mud or dust accumulation. Use Pigment Binder to create textures like dirt and mud build-up.
Cleanup is simple with water, and all Pigment FX products are non-flammable.
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
