Vallejo Grey Sand is a gritty acrylic texture paste with a fine, sandy grain and a neutral grey tone. Applied from the 200 ml pot with a brush or palette knife, it reproduces the coarse ground of dunes, arid plains and exposed rock. The paste is thinner than the pumice textures in the same range, so it spreads more easily — some modellers also use it to simulate non-slip deck plates on armoured vehicles or to build up corrosion and rust effects. It is highly adherent and can be painted once dry.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Do I need a primer?
