Tamiya 74068 Modelling Scissors for Photo-Etched Parts have sharply pointed stainless steel tips designed to reach into the narrowest joints on a photo-etched fret and cut without bending the surrounding metal. The fine points let the blades enter a small gap and sever the connection cleanly, which matters on thin brass and steel frets where a wider tool would deform the adjacent part. A protective storage cap is included to shield the tips when the scissors are not in use.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
