- Tuft Length
- The visible length of the brush hairs, measured from the ferrule to the tip.
- Belly Diameter
- The widest point of the brush head. On round brushes, this is the widest part of the belly.
- Total Length
- The full measurement from the tip of the brush to the end of the handle.
How to care for your brush
Because this is a synthetic plein air set, maintenance is simple but should be done promptly after painting. Rinse brushes as soon as possible, especially if you are using acrylics, and use a mild soap if pigment has started to settle. Synthetic fibres can handle a little warmer water than natural hair, but avoid heat and do not leave brushes standing in solvent or water. Reshape flats, filberts, and the egbert while damp, then let the set dry completely before packing it back into the pochade box. A slim roll or case helps keep tips protected on the move.
