Product Information

Gaahleri Advanced Series

Genuine replacement 0.5mm needle for the Gaahleri Seeker Airbrush. Multi-stage polished stainless steel, purpose-built for the Seeker's coverage configuration. Drop-in fit — no guesswork on taper or geometry.

Why Keep a Spare?

A bent needle means a dead session. Having a spare on the shelf means you're back spraying in seconds, not waiting days for a replacement. This is especially true for the 0.5mm needle, which Seeker owners use heavily for basecoating, priming, and broad coverage work — the jobs where a damaged needle is most disruptive.

This is the genuine Gaahleri needle, matched to the Seeker's 0.5mm nozzle geometry. The multi-stage polishing gives a consistently smooth taper, which translates to predictable atomisation and less tip dry compared to generic replacement needles.

The 0.5mm Configuration — Coverage Workhorse

The Seeker ships with both 0.3mm and 0.5mm needle/nozzle sets. The 0.5mm is the coverage setup — what you reach for when you need to lay down smooth basecoats across a squad, prime a batch of vehicles, or spray broad zenithal highlights and colour transitions.

It handles thinned acrylics, primers, and varnishes comfortably at moderate pressures, and it's the natural choice for larger work: vehicles, terrain pieces, dioramas, and scale models at 1/35, 1/32, and 1/24.

Compatibility

Compatible with: Gaahleri Seeker Airbrush (Advanced Series — the model with 0.3mm + 0.5mm needle/nozzle sets).

Not compatible with: Other Gaahleri models (Mobius, GHAD-39, GHAD-68) — these use their own dedicated needles with different geometry. Do not mix and match between models.

Best Used For

Basecoating — smooth, even coverage on infantry squads, vehicles, and terrain.

Priming & varnishing — with properly thinned products and moderate pressure.

Broad transitions — zenithal highlights, armour panel fades, cloak blends on larger surfaces.

Scale models — great for 1/35, 1/32, and 1/24 kit work where coverage matters.

Terrain & dioramas — efficient paint delivery on larger surfaces.

Pro Tips

Always insert the needle gently — push it forward slowly until seated. Forcing it can bend the tip or damage the nozzle. If it doesn't slide in smoothly, back off and check alignment.

Buy a spare now, thank yourself later. Bent needles always happen at the worst time — mid-project, late evening, deadline looming. Experienced airbrushers keep at least one spare on hand.

Thin your paints properly — even the best needle won't save you from clogging if paint consistency is too thick. Aim for milk-like consistency for most acrylics through a 0.5mm setup.

Clean after every session — flush with airbrush cleaner, wipe the needle gently with a soft cloth pulling towards the tip. Never wipe backwards — it pushes dried paint into the nozzle seat.

Worth Knowing

Seeker only — this needle is specific to the Gaahleri Seeker. It will not fit other Gaahleri models or third-party airbrushes.

0.5mm is not for fine detail — if you need ultra-thin lines, pupils, or micro freehand, you'll want the 0.3mm configuration (or smaller). The 0.5mm excels at coverage and broader work.

Needles are fragile by nature — even the best stainless steel needle can bend if dropped or handled carelessly. This isn't a flaw of the product; it's the reality of any sub-millimetre precision component.

What nozzle size do I need for miniatures?

0.3mm is the versatile all-rounder for base coats and priming; 0.2mm suits fine detail work. Larger nozzles (0.5mm) are for terrain and big surfaces.

Do I need a compressor with a tank?

A tank smooths the airflow and reduces pulsing, giving more consistent results — worth it if you spray regularly, but tankless compressors work fine for occasional use.

How do I keep an airbrush working well?

Flush with airbrush cleaner between colours and strip-clean after each session. Most spraying problems are cleaning problems.
