Product overview

The MP-01 PRO is DSPIAE's larger wet palette for acrylic and other water-based paints. A soaked sponge sits in a thick ABS tray, a water induction sheet draws moisture up from it, and a colour mixing sheet on top keeps your paint workable; close the lid between sessions and it is ready when you open it again. DSPIAE reports paint staying fresh over a one month test (results vary). A removable PP paint well runs along one side; a corner port tops up water without lifting the paper.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
