About This Product

The Apoxie Sculpt Colour Tray is a pre-packed mixing kit containing four Apoxie Sculpt colours selected to work together as a palette. Instead of buying four separate tubs, you get a single tray with measured portions of each colour — ready to mix, blend, and sculpt.

This is the Earth palette, curated for warm skin tones, terracotta, sand, and organic effects. Every colour in the tray is genuine Apoxie Sculpt — same formula, same 1:1 mix ratio, same 24-hour cure. Mix any Part A colours together to create custom shades, then add equal Part B to activate.

What's in the Earth Tray?

Pink (Natural-tinted)

Warm pinkish base for skin tones, blush effects, and light warm mixes.

Orange

Terracotta, rust, warm clay, and vibrant accent tones.

Bronze

Metallic-earth tones, aged metal, warm patina effects.

Natural

Off-white / cream base for lightening, blending, and neutral foundations.

Who Is This For?

Figure and doll sculptors — skin tones, flesh effects, and warm organic colours built right into the material.

Desert and arid terrain builders — sand, sandstone, red rock, baked earth, and dry-climate scenery.

Restoration and repair work — warm tones that blend naturally with wood, terracotta, and ceramic surfaces.

Fine art and decorative work — create warm-palette sculpted elements, jewellery blanks, and mixed-media pieces with built-in colour.

What Can You Mix?

RECIPE Light skin tone — Natural + a touch of Pink + a hint of Orange.

RECIPE Terracotta — Orange + Bronze.

RECIPE Warm sand — Natural + Orange in small proportions.

RECIPE Copper / warm metal — Bronze + a touch of Orange.

RECIPE Salmon / coral — Pink + Orange.

RECIPE Aged bronze — Bronze + Natural to lighten and mute.

Tips from the Hobby Community

Mix Part A colours thoroughly — streaks will show through the cured material if colours aren't fully blended before adding Part B.

Start with small amounts — it's easier to add more of a colour than to correct an over-mixed batch. Go gradually.

Use cold water to reduce sticking and help hold fine detail while sculpting.

Wear nitrile gloves — coloured epoxy compounds can leave pigment on skin and surfaces.

Store sealed and cool — keep the tray sealed between sessions for maximum shelf life.

Which Colour Tray Do You Need?

Earth (this kit)

Warm tones — skin, sand, terracotta, rust, copper, desert terrain. The go-to for figure sculpting, warm terrain, and organic work.

Neutral

Greys, browns, and stone tones. Ideal for rocky terrain, concrete, urban scenery, and muted earth effects.

Primary

Chromatic colours — reds, oranges, greens, blues, purples, teals. Ideal for colourful figure work, mosaic, and decorative sculpting.

Use multiple trays together

Earth + Neutral gives you warm and cool tones plus Black for darkening — perfect for terrain that transitions from earth to stone.

Good to Know

No Black or White included. To darken or lighten these warm tones, you'll need Black, White, or Super White from separate tubs or the Neutral tray.

Small portions per colour. Each colour is approximately 46 g (1/10 lb). If you need large amounts of one specific colour, a dedicated 454 g (1 lb) tub is more practical.

It cures rigid. If you need a flexible end result, Green Stuff or a flexible putty is a better choice.

Wear gloves. Nitrile gloves are recommended, especially when handling saturated pigments like Orange and Pink.

The Aves Studio Range

We stock the complete Aves Studio range — Apoxie Sculpt in 12 colours (113 g, 454 g, and 1.81 kg formats), all three Colour Trays (Neutral, Primary, and Earth), Super White Apoxie, Apoxie Clay, Apoxie Paste, Fixit Paste, and Finishing Solution. If you're not sure which product or palette suits your project, feel free to message us.

Which glue should I use for plastic, resin or metal?

Plastic cement welds polystyrene kits; resin and metal don't react to cement, so use super glue (CA). PVA is for basing materials only.

Green Stuff or Milliput — which putty?

Green Stuff stays slightly flexible and holds fine sculpted detail; Milliput cures rock-hard and sands smooth, ideal for gap filling. Many modellers mix the two.

How long does epoxy putty take to cure?

Workable for roughly 60–90 minutes, fully cured in about 24 hours at room temperature — check each product's description for exact times.
