Product overview
AK6583 provides a formed water surface for modelled ponds, lakes, canals and sheltered harbour areas. Broad, rounded, cell-like ripples are moulded into the transparent acrylic rather than arranged as a directional current, giving the sheet an open, still-water character. The 245 × 195 mm area can be cut to the required shoreline or feature, then coloured and finished as part of the surrounding groundwork. Each pack contains one sheet.
- The moulded ripple pattern is broad, rounded and non-directional.
- The sheet measures 9.64 × 7.68 inches in AK’s imperial specification.
- It can be trimmed with a modelling knife and treated with paint, washes or drybrushing.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?
Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
How do I keep tools in good condition?
Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
