Product overview

AK16055 combines the complete collection of 28 water-based acrylic ink colours, each supplied in a 30 ml dropper bottle. Their semi-transparent character allows underlying colour and detail to remain visible during glazing, filtering, washing and layered applications. The box unites the standard, fluorescent and extended ranges, providing every colour from The Inks line in one set for miniature and scale-model painting.

Contents comprise 14 standard colours, six fluorescent shades and eight extended-range inks.
The formula can be applied by brush or airbrush.
High lightfastness helps the finished colours resist fading.
The inks mix with AK 3rd Generation acrylic paints to create more saturated shades.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
