AK8209-A3 extends the layered cutting-mat design to a 450 × 300 mm work area, giving larger components and longer cuts more room on the bench. Five-layer recycled PVC construction places a hard white core between soft working faces. The 3 mm self-healing surface is designed so that shallow blade marks gradually tend to close.

The A3 model is the larger member of the AK8209 cutting-mat pair.
Printed grid lines support measuring, alignment and controlled cutting.
Scale reference markings are included on the working surface.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
