Product overview

For pale accumulated dust across vehicles from any theatre, AK4062 provides 35 ml of lightly textured enamel deposit. It is not limited to desert subjects: the product is intended to leave visible dusty build-up wherever fine dirt settles, including around details, recesses and raised edges.

  • Mix the bottle and apply the deposit straight to the chosen areas.
  • Allow roughly 10–15 minutes of drying, then start the blend.
  • Blend with a flat brush carrying a little AK011 White Spirit.
  • Leave most of the material in and around surface detail rather than removing it evenly.
  • After drying, repeat the application if a more intense dust effect is needed.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
