Oak foliage works where a diorama needs a recognisable woodland leaf rather than anonymous ground scatter. AK9170 gives the modeller four different oak leaf shapes in one hand punch, creating enough variation to mix fallen leaves beneath trees or build foliage across a scene. The tool makes repeatable cut-outs while keeping the tree identity consistent from one part of the groundwork to another.

Cutting material may be printed paper or real dead leaves.
AK specifies use with 1:35, 1:32 and 54 mm work.
All four oak cutters sit within one round die head.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
