Product overview
Where a glossy finish is required, AK192 Glossy Varnish delivers a 60 ml water-soluble acrylic coating for model surfaces. Application is possible without spraying, while the formula is also designed to perform through an airbrush. It contains no odour, is non-toxic and needs 12 hours to become fully dry.
- Lay down the varnish with a brush or pass it through an airbrush.
- Shake thoroughly at the start of each painting session.
- For dilution, the specified companion product is AK712 Acrylic Thinner.
- The final surface is glossy once the coating has dried.
- Account for the complete drying time before handling subsequent painting stages.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
