Abteilung 502 Cream Brown is an artist-grade modelling oil in a 20 ml tube. AK describes it as a subtle brown, useful for working brown tones and for weathering and discolouring camouflages in any shade of brown. Like the rest of the ABT 502 range, it uses a lower-oil formula for a more matte finish and a balance between medium and pigment, with the slow drying typical of oils giving extended working time for blending, filters and fades on figures, vehicles and dioramas.
20 ml tube, single artist oil colour (AK code AKABT240; former code ABT240)
Reduced-oil formula for more matte finishes than standard fine-art oils
AK use: brown tones, weathering, and discolouring brown camouflages

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
