Tamiya 1/35 Scale Hanomag Sd.Kfz.251/1 Model Kit 35020

The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German half-truck in 1:35 scale.

The experience gained during I world war proved that the task of breaking front line was taken over by a new invention- a tank. However, he was not able to maintain the occupied area without help and support of soldiers. There was a need to build a vehicle that would keep pace with armored forces. Such armored transporters started to be produced in most countries but most of them originate from the initiators of the doctrine of instant war - Germany. The most famous and most widely produced transporter was Sd.Kfz 251/1. The vehicle produced in the Hanomag factory was a half-truck and was armed with two machine guns. The transport capacity allowed to transport 10 soldiers with weapons and equipment. It was planned to equip all Armored Grenadier forces with those vehicles. Sd.Kfz. The 251 also proved to be a platform for carrying weapons, communications vehicles or pioneers. Generally, about 15,000 vehicles of this type were produced, mostly as armored transporters.

The Tamiya kit allows you to build and paint the Sd.Kfz. 251/1 with 5 Wehrmacht soldiers. The set consists of 3 frames with plastic parts of the vehicle, hull, rubber tracks, infantry and decals (allow to reconstruct the 14th, 16th, or 24th Armored Division, Eastern Front, 15th or 21st Divisions fighting in Afrika Korps or Grossdeutschland division).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
