Vallejo Metal Color Gloss Black Primer 73.660 is a water-based base coat formulated for use beneath Metal Color metallic paints. Its gloss black surface improves the adhesion of the metallic layer applied over it and helps strengthen the resulting reflections. This 60 ml format is suited to preparing scale-model parts before the selected metallic colour is applied. Vallejo also produces the same primer in a larger 200 ml bottle under reference 74.660.

Designed as an undercoat for the Vallejo Metal Color range.
Improves the adhesion of subsequent metallic layers.
Diluted application increases the intensity of the metallic colour.
Supplied in a bottle with a flip-top eyedropper closure.
Also available in 200 ml as reference 74.660.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
