Product overview
Vallejo Metal Color Exhaust Manifold recreates the distinctive appearance of metal repeatedly exposed to high temperatures. Its specialised metallic tone works particularly well on engine manifolds, exhaust headers and other heat-stressed mechanical components. Aluminium pigments give the water-based paint its reflective finish, while the quick-drying, self-levelling formula helps produce an even coat through an airbrush. It can be used directly or adjusted with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
