Vallejo Airbrush Thinner extends acrylic colours from the Model Air and Model Color ranges, increasing fluidity and delaying drying time without altering the properties of the paint. A few drops added to the paint cup during an airbrush session produce a smoother flow and finer atomisation. Water-based and solvent-free, it is safe for regular use with all Vallejo acrylics and also compatible with the Liquid Acrylic range.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
