Tamiya 74146 combines long, slim needle-nose jaws with cutters positioned inside the hinge. The narrow nose can grip small components in the manner of tweezers and reach into crowded assemblies, while the extended jaws provide contact for bending brass wire. Unlike standard gripping pliers, this tool can also trim modelling wire without requiring a separate cutter, subject to the specified capacity for each metal.
The cutters accept mild steel wire up to 1.2 mm in diameter.
Brass wire up to 1.3 mm can be bent and cut.
The handles have non-slip PVC grips.
The twin-star logo is positioned on the hinge joint.

Notes · Q & A
What nozzle size do I need for miniatures?+
0.3mm is the versatile all-rounder for base coats and priming; 0.2mm suits fine detail work. Larger nozzles (0.5mm) are for terrain and big surfaces.
Do I need a compressor with a tank?+
A tank smooths the airflow and reduces pulsing, giving more consistent results — worth it if you spray regularly, but tankless compressors work fine for occasional use.
How do I keep an airbrush working well?+
Flush with airbrush cleaner between colours and strip-clean after each session. Most spraying problems are cleaning problems.
