Tamiya 74103 uses the reverse-action mechanism in a straight-tip layout. Pressure on the handle opens the jaws; releasing the handle closes them and maintains the hold without a continuous squeeze. This reduces hand fatigue and permits a component to remain gripped during soldering. Unlike angled 74102, the straight working end approaches the target along the tool’s centreline for direct placement.

Should I use straight or curved tweezers?

Straight tips give the most control for placing small parts and photo-etch flat to a surface. Curved tips let you see past your own hand and reach into recesses. If buying one pair first, start with fine straight points.

What tweezers are best for applying decals?
