Stiff, springy synthetic round built for acrylics — handles heavy body or watered-down paint, and survives being left in water.
The Pro Arte Acrylix Series 202 is a short-handled synthetic round made specifically for acrylic painters. Its stiff, resilient fibre has the backbone to move heavy-body acrylic yet keeps enough spring and point to work thinned, fluid paint for detail.
The firm filament is extremely durable — it tolerates the abuse acrylics inflict on brushes, including being left standing in water, where a softer synthetic would deform. It handles oils as well.
What makes this brush special
Stiff, resilient synthetic with strong spring — made for acrylics. Enough point for detail, enough backbone for heavy-body paint. Short handle for close, precise control. Exceptionally durable: tolerates water-standing and rough acrylic use. Also suitable for oils.

Brush sizes are not standardised across brands — a Size 1 from one maker may differ from another. These brushes are handcrafted, so individual dimensions may vary by 1–2 mm.
How we measure a brushA visual guide to the measurements shown in the size chart above.
These are the same measurements shown in the size chart above. Brush sizes are not standardised across brands, so use these dimensions when comparing brushes within a series or between manufacturers.
Tuft Length
The visible length of the brush hairs, measured from the ferrule to the tip.
Belly Diameter
The widest point of the brush head. On round brushes, this is the widest part of the belly.
Total Length
The full measurement from the tip of the brush to the end of the handle.
How to care for your brush
Acrylix is built to take punishment, but still rinse well before acrylic dries in the heel. Clean with brush soap, reshape and dry. It tolerates water-standing better than most synthetics, but don't leave it indefinitely.
