Monument Hobbies Pro Acryl Medium & Varnish is a set of five acrylic mediums and varnishes for miniature painting. The Glaze & Wash Medium turns any Pro Acryl colour into a glaze or wash at roughly four parts medium to one part paint. The Matte and Gloss Varnishes alter or protect the finish of painted work. Newsh is a water-based weathering medium — it stays workable for about 15 minutes and will not reactivate once dry, so no sealing coat is needed between steps. The 1-Step Special Sauce converts standard Pro Acryl paints into one-coat contrast paints at approximately two parts medium to one part paint.
- Five products: Glaze & Wash Medium, Matte Varnish, Gloss Varnish, Newsh Weathering Medium and 1-Step Special Sauce.
- All are water-based and non-toxic — mix with Pro Acryl paints and thin or clean up with water.
- Newsh dries in roughly 15 minutes and does not reactivate, eliminating the need for a barrier varnish coat.
- Conforms to ASTM D-4236. Made in the USA.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
