Cornflower is the small blue flower of arable land, and that is where this sheet puts it: through farmland grain fields. The plant carries an old medicinal reputation — it is the one said to have healed Chiron, the wise centaur — together with associations of hope and resilience. One printed sheet holds around 370 tufts, coloured before they reach you and varied in shape and size; scattered over a field they break the ground up rather than repeat.
The blooms are already blue, so nothing needs painting once a tuft is down.
Tweezers give you the most control over which tuft comes away; a little PVA underneath turns that into a permanent fix.
Centaurea cyanus is the species behind the name.

Notes · Q & A
What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?+
That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.
Are tufts self-adhesive?+
Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.
How do I apply static grass?+
Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
