Product overview

Dry Tuft XL gives the tallest tuft format a clear two-tone structure: a darker brown base under long beige tips. On its own, it suits dry or arid habitats with sparse growth and seasonally dry summer grassland. Combined with other colours and sizes, it also adds realism to dense high prairie, steppe and woodland ground cover. Around 36 larger pieces give height and separation rather than the denser coverage of shorter sheets.

  • Wild XL is the sole shape available on any of the XL sheets.
  • A tuft comes away from the sheet individually and is ready to use.
  • Tweezers help with controlled removal, while PVA gives a tougher and more permanent attachment.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
