Product overview

The DSPIAE AT-PB is the large photo-etch folding station for builders handling longer parts or wanting a choice of working surface. Place the fold line beneath the appropriate tooth, tighten the two knurled knobs, then raise the metal with a straight bending plate. Its black bench base gives the fold a stable reference instead of asking pliers to hold an entire edge by hand.

  • The clamping plate provides 14 folding teeth and one long straight folding edge.
  • Two interchangeable platforms are included: polished mirror-finish stainless steel and sandblasted satin aluminium alloy.
  • Two straight bending plates are supplied in long and short lengths.
  • An anti-slip pad underneath keeps the station from sliding across the bench.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
