The DSPIAE AT-HV is a hand-held vise for modellers who want to turn a clamped part without rotating their wrist. Its red anodised grip carries a jaw head on a ball joint, allowing the work to tilt and turn while it remains in your hand. Place the tool on its supplied round pedestal when a free-standing holder suits the job better.
The jaws accept parts measuring up to 47 mm across.
Overall dimensions are 138 × 60 × 59 mm.
Machining is controlled to a 0.002 cm tolerance.
Cross slots in the jaw faces are 0.35 mm deep and no more than 0.7 mm wide for holding tiny cylindrical pieces.
The body combines aluminium alloy with stainless steel components.
Parts can sit directly between the jaws or on thin steel rods protected by clear silicone tubing.

Notes · Q & A
Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?+
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?+
Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
How do I keep tools in good condition?+
Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
