The red DSPIAE AS-25RD PRO is a single Cerberus hand-held sanding stick with two working faces. Its bare corrugated side shaves directly, while the smooth reverse accepts self-adhesive paper bought separately. Rigid support prevents the abrasive from folding into a seam, giving you a flat reference before or after working with the uncovered metal texture.

The sanding area measures 25 x 75 mm, paired with a 90 mm moulded handle.
A milled sawtooth and wave pattern increases the cutting action on the paper-free face.
This upgraded edition enlarges the smooth surface available for an adhesive strip.
Forged aluminium construction is sandblasted and anodised for a rust-resistant finish.
The treated board can be used for wet-sanding.

What's the difference between a needle file and a sanding stick?

Needle files are steel, cut faster and hold their shape for tight spots and metal. Sanding sticks are foam or paper-backed abrasive, kinder to plastic and better for smoothing broad, flat surfaces without gouging.

Which grit should I start with on mould lines?

For plastic, start around 400 grit to knock the line back, then refine with 600–800. Coarser than 400 leaves scratches you then have to chase out, so only go lower for resin flash or heavy work.

Should I file wet or dry?

Wet sanding with a drop of water reduces dust and clogging and gives a finer finish, which matters on resin where the dust is best not inhaled. Dry filing is fine for quick metal work and steel needle files.

How do I stop a file clogging with plastic or resin?

Brush it out with a stiff brass brush along the cut direction. For sanding sticks, tap them clean often. Clogged abrasive stops cutting and starts burnishing, which just polishes the high spots rather than removing them.
