AK471 Xtreme Metal Black Base is a 30 ml glossy black lacquer base intended to increase the sheen of metallic colours applied over it. It needs no separate priming, and it leaves the plastic underneath unharmed. Let the base dry very thoroughly before adding another colour, particularly finishes such as Chrome or Polished Aluminium.

  • The lacquer provides ultra-high covering power.
  • Its surface is resistant to masking and weathering work.
  • A varnish may be applied without reducing the gloss.
  • Made in Spain.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Do I need a primer?
