WWII RAF Aircraft Desert Colors is the smallest box in AK's RAF range: three 3rd Generation acrylics, the colours AK calls essential for RAF aircraft camouflaged in the Desert Scheme — aircraft mainly deployed in the Mediterranean Theatre of Operations (MTO). That makes it the RAF counterpart to AK11719 WWII Luftwaffe Tropical Colors, which covers the other side of the same theatre under the same MTO phrase, a useful pairing for a North Africa diorama. All three colours are also inside the eight-bottle master box, AK11723 WWII RAF Aircraft Colors.
- Set contains (3 × 17 ml): AK11841 RAF Dark Earth, AK11845 RAF Azure Blue, AK11846 RAF Middle Stone

- Matt finish throughout — no metallic or gloss member in the box

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
