WWII RAF Aircraft Colors is the master box of AK's RAF range: eight 3rd Generation acrylics covering the seven camouflage colours AK calls indispensable for RAF aircraft throughout the Second World War, plus an eighth — RAF Cockpit Grey-Green, the standard colour of RAF combat aircraft cockpit interiors — so the box covers interiors as well as exteriors. Because these four boxes nest, it is worth stating plainly: this set contains all four colours of AK11725 Day Fighter Scheme and all three of AK11726 Aircraft Desert Colors, and three of AK11724 Temperate Land Scheme's four — everything except RAF Night (Blue-Black). If night bombers are the subject, that one bottle is what the master box lacks.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
