Product overview

Wood Weathering Set is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml enamel weathering products for wood in any form — wooden parts, tools, boxes, structures. The card itself prints "enamel color set", and the structure is two filters plus a wash: AK's Light Filter for Wood subtly shifts the base tone of vehicles and models in sand colours and works on parts that simulate wood, the Filter for Brown Wood is AK's reddish brown filter for sand, brown or green base tones, and the Wood Wash goes over light wood colours, or even dark, to deepen and enhance the wood. All three jars are stocked by us separately as singles.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
