Slimy Grime and Fuel Weathering Set is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml enamel weathering products for damp, slimy growth and spilled fuel on scale models. AK's own text points the set at ships and boats, docks, old wooden items and LVTP vehicles: two jars are the slimy grimes, dark and light — the dark one a dark green effect for fresh moss and slimy surfaces caused by dampness, per AK — and the third is Fuel stains, AK's definitive mixture for spilled fuel effects, which AK is explicit is not a product for oil and grease effects. All three are enamels, stocked by us separately as singles.

Set contains (3 × 35 ml): AK025 Fuel stains, AK026 Slimy Grime Dark and AK027 Slimy Grime Light

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
