AK Interactive Real Colors WWII Luftwaffe Tropical Colors contains three lacquer paints for tropical camouflage introduced around spring 1941. RLM 78 was specified for lower surfaces, RLM 79 for upper surfaces and RLM 80 for disruptive camouflage applied at depot or unit level. The scheme was associated primarily with aircraft operating in the Mediterranean and North Africa, although AK notes that factory-painted examples also appeared on the Eastern Front. The paints are formulated for airbrush use.
- Set contains (3 × 17 ml): RC946 RLM 78, RC947 RLM 79, RC948 RLM 80
- Lacquer-based Real Colors with a soft matt finish, ready for weathering
- Lower-surface RLM 78, upper-surface RLM 79 and RLM 80 disruptive camouflage
- Formulated for airbrush application; thin with RC701 or RC702 (or another lacquer-based thinner)

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
