Four 17 ml jars of AK Interactive 3rd Generation acrylics for painting WWII RAF pilot figures. Three of the four form the uniform ladder — shadows, base and highlights in Dark Sea Blue, RLM 83 and Aggressor Blue — while the fourth is a Sahara Yellow for the characteristic inflatable life preserver, the "Mae West" of period RAF slang. AK prints the shadow to base to light order on the fold-out label, with the yellow called out to the life jacket. Matt finish, ready for the brush, and thinnable with water or AK11500 for airbrush use.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
