Product overview

Ocher Rust AK2043 is an ultrafine 35 ml weathering pigment for aircraft, civil and military modelling. Supplied as loose powder, it gives a matt, controllable effect that can be adjusted before final fixing. The pigment may be used alone, mixed with other colours from the dry range, or incorporated into compatible texture products. This keeps the application flexible without turning the powder itself into an enamel effect.

For wet work, mix it into Pigment Fixer; White Spirit is equally effective.
When applying it dry, position the required accumulation first and fix it later.
Low adhesive power allows adjustment before the powder is secured.
Suitable for light dusting and for building texture with other modelling products.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
