Product overview

AK677 Neutral Grey Wash is a general-purpose 35 ml enamel wash, particularly useful when white and black surfaces need controlled definition. On light finishes it produces softer shadows than a very dark wash; over black or near-black areas, the grey tint remains visible around the detail. Its broader published uses extend across metallic, red, yellow and blue base colours on vehicles, figures and science-fiction subjects.

Shake before applying the wash around panels, joins and raised features.
Once placed, soften and rework it with White Spirit as required.
Lift residual wash with a thinner-dampened, clean brush.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
